This last year has been an interesting one. We made a whole lot of friends, and I managed to make some enemies as well. I am surprisingly ok with both, thats how life goes and so I choose to embrace that fact.
We've seen some talent come and go, with great sadness. People that I hope to someday work again with, in some form. We've also parted ways with the type of people that you will never, ever see perform or work with the band again. Ever.
Life is too short to spend time on people who don't deserve it, thats a life lesson I wont soon forget.
So say hello to the new recruits Matt Kelly (keys) and Alexis Von Kraven (drums).
There is soo much talent between these guys, and so its humbling to share the stage/rehearsal space with people that inspire like they do. Its a statement on their charactor and their abilities.
I've been working with Matt for a few months now, and i cant ever remember being so excited to work on music with another individual.
Awaking State, since the beginning, has been about me making music. The band is about delivering that music to the people and the fans out there.
So its a change, but a pleasant one to have a partner to work with on making the music. Matt is just that fucking good.
Check him out in his Project Deviation outlet as well, very talented guy working with other, non-awaking state talent. Definitely something worth checking out.
So there's some dirt for you.
